# Test studies
Test studies document the validation process and results from a physical implementation of the Network Information Management System reference architecture. Each test study provides:
- An introduction and overview of the specifics of the test study
- Detailed workflows that were tested in the process
- A detailed test study architecture - including hardware sizing information and machine types as appropriate
- An explanation of the testing methodology and results

> **Note**
> It is important that you become familiar with the reference architecture _before_ diving in to the case studies, as there are important information and resources shared in the reference architecture pages that are not duplicated within the test study.
