ArcGIS products and deployment options

ArcGIS capabilities are delivered in large part through four foundational products. These products in turn enable flexible deployment options, including software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software.

  • ArcGIS Online delivers GIS software as a service (SaaS), bringing mapping and spatial analysis to any device with an internet connection.   • ArcGIS Location Platform delivers GIS platform capabilities as a service (PaaS), bringing the power of maps and location services to your applications. ArcGIS Location Platform is designed for software developers, businesses, and organizations that need to bring location innovation into their products, solutions, and systems. Build with the mapping libraries of your choice or use Esri’s full range of mapping SDKs, low-code, and no-code options that reduce time to market and promote creative design.   • ArcGIS Enterprise delivers GIS as server software that runs on the cloud or your on-premises infrastructure. It’s secure, reliable, enterprise-ready, and completely customizable, designed to align with your IT standards and integrate with other enterprise systems in your IT landscape. ArcGIS Enterprise can be deployed on Windows and Linux, with deployment tooling available for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure cloud environments, and support for any cloud provider that offers a supported operating system. ArcGIS Enterprise can also be deployed on Kubernetes, with support for Red Hat OpenShift, Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RKE and RKE2), as well as managed Kubernetes services on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).   • ArcGIS Pro delivers GIS as desktop software. In addition to the deployment options discussed above, Esri also provides a managed cloud services offering. Esri Managed Cloud Services leverages the advanced system capabilities of ArcGIS, drawing on all of the foundational products described above, to design, deploy, and manage GIS in the cloud for your organization. ArcGIS supports flexible deployment options, enabling you to deploy and manage ArcGIS in a way that aligns best with your organization’s IT environment.
